我们都知道三殊胜，发心时都在说：“为利益天边无尽的如母有情修法。”等等。但这是不是真的发心，要先反观自心，看看自己下士的发心及中士的发心，也就是为来世、为解脱的心有没有，如果下面的发心都不真实，如何谈到上士的发心呢？所以，出离心要稳固，菩提心才能真实。

We all know the Three Supreme Methods, and recite the generation of Bodhicitta that we are now going to practice for the benefit of all mother sentient beings as limitless as space. But is this a genuine motivation? We need first to turn inward and check if we have established the inferior and mediocre motivations, that is, the motivation for next life and the motivation for liberation. If these motivations are not truly established, how can we mention the superior motivation? Therefore, we need to have a stabilized renunciation so as to generate a genuine Bodhicitta.
